This is in relation to the PPI policy that I took and I believe was mis-sold to me at the time of purchase. This policy is unfair and it was wrongly sold to me. I wish to reclaim my payments made on the policy and any other incidental fines, late fees and other payments I might have made on the policy. I also wish to be compensated for the loss of interest on my money.

The reason I feel that the purchase of the PPI policy was unfair is as follows:

• The brokers also led to me believe that taking on the PPI policy would improve my chances of getting a [select from -[loan/credit card/credit card etc]. I was not offered a clear choice evenwhen I inquired about other available options.

• I was not shown a clear breakdown of the payments that I would be making on the [select from -[loan/credit card/credit card etc].

• I [select from - was/knew I was soon to be] [select from - unemployed/self-employed/retired/over the age limit] at the time of taking on the policy. I made your staff aware of this and they knew about it but I was still advised to take on the PPI policy.

• The staff members and brokers did not ask about any medical conditions that I might have. I was not told that a few medical conditions were not included in the medical policy. I was not warned that having certain medical conditions would affect my payment process.

At the time of buying the policy, I was now made aware of the entire conditions of the PPI policy. If I had known about the financial details and conditions of the policy, I would not committed to it as it provides no benefit to a senior citizen or a retired citizen of my age.

For this reason, I demand a full repayment of all the money I spent on the policy along with any subsequent interest on these payments. I also demand a payback of any incidentals, fines and deposits that I may have paid you in relation to this policy. The current interest is applicable on my payments and I demand a payback of my money as I am retired and the policy was completely superfluous to my needs.

I expect a response to this matter along with a speedy repayment within the next 6-8 weeks.

As there are points that have to be noted in each template letter, please ensure that you read the letter carefully after personalizing it. Personalize the details on the letter accurately. As a result, if I could not carry out my [choose the one which applies to you - loan/credit card/store card repayments], then this policy was not valid on me even after making the payments on the PPI policy.

This fact was not told to me at the time of taking on the policy and if I had known this, I would not have taken on the policy. This was a completely unessential and useless policy that was mis-sold to me.

I was told by the salesperson that I also had to purchase a payment protection policy or a PPI policy which would cost me an extra £xxx as a payment that I would be making along with the loan. When I inquired about the need for the policy, I was informed that it [would increase my chances of getting the loan/ was mandatory for getting a loan.] Furthermore, when I took out the loan, I was told that my application would be refused if I did not also buy a PPI policy. As a result, I took on the policy and the total premiums plus interest amount of my loan came to £ xxxx.

This was also in contravention to the Financial Services Authority’s advice where a borrower cannot be refused a loan if do not want to buy optional insurance policies attached to loans. By forcing me to buy the policy, the salesperson and your bank, have breached paragraph 8.6 of the Banking Code, to which you are a signatory.

I did inform the salesperson that I was a contractor and that I needed the loan to expand my business. The salesperson knew about my profession and failed to inform me that I was not eligible for payment protection in case I was not able to pay back the loan. This was irrespective of the fact that I was paying for the PPI policy. As a result, I was paying for a policy that totally unnecessary for me. If I had been apprised of all the conditions of the PPI policy, I would not have opted for it

* The terms of the policy were not informed to me clearly at the time of purchase. As a result, I was not able to make an informed or accurate decision about the policy

* At the time of taking on the policy, I was suffering from a [insert health condition]. I informed the salesperson but I was not informed about any policy exclusions that would be imposed on me as related to my health conditions.

* When I was taking on the policy, I told the salesperson that I was [delete as appropriate: unemployed, self-employed, on a fixed-term contract, retired]. However, I was not informed of my exclusion as per the terms of the policy and I continued to pay the required amount on my PPI policy.

* I was over the retirement age when I took the policy. I was not informed that this was a policy exclusion term.

* At the time of taking the policy, I was not informed that the policy would accrue interest and I would have fines and incidental fees on the policy and its payments which would add to my overall loan payments.

* It was not explained to me that the PPI policy would end before the credit agreement ended, which meant that I would be paying interest on a policy that was no longer valid.

* At the time of taking on the policy, I was informed that taking the policy would increase my chances of getting a loan/credit card/ etc

* At the time of taking the [delete as appropriate: mortgage, credit card, loan, store card, credit agreement]I was not informed about the PPI and I only become aware of it when I had to pay extra on my premiums.]

For this reason, I believe that I have been mis-sold this PPI policy and I would like to terminate it immediately. I also demand back the money that I have paid on the policy, along with any incidentals, fees and deposits that I might have made on this PPI policy. Please note that I have paid £xxx loan/credit card on this policy and I demand the money back along with the applicable current interest rate. As this policy is totally superfluous to my needs, I have wrongly sold it and I urge you to investigate this matter immediately.

Please look into the matter as quickly as possible or within the 6-8 weeks time that the financial authorities have sanctioned per complaint. Failing which, I will forward the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman for a speedy resolution.
